Date

The procurement process for the Reid Highway Dual Carriageway: Altone Road to West Swan Road Project has taken a step forward with a Request for Proposal briefing held this week at Main Roads.

Shortlisted proponents were invited to hear from Project Director, Mohammad Siddiqui and Project Manager, Jeremy Burkett on the project requirements, scope of works and an indicative project program. The briefing also outlined important project considerations, including Aboriginal procurement and local industry participation requirements.

The Reid Highway Dual Carriageway Project is a WA Industry Link pilot project, which means prospective proponents will need to complete a participation plan as part of their tender bid, as required by the Western Australian Industry Participation Strategy.

At the briefing event, representatives from the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation provided attendees with further details of the participation plan requirements and the implications they may have on their business.

The Request for Proposal closing date is 21 September 2018 and Main Roads expects to award the project’s design and construct contract in early 2019.
