Local Capability Fund

Local Capability Fund 

The purpose of the Local Capability Fund (LCF) is to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Western Australia to increase their capability, capacity and competitiveness as suppliers of products, services and works to the Western Australian Government, major projects and other important markets.

The LCF typically provides funding assistance for activities such as planning, improvements to internal infrastructure, plant and equipment and training.

Rounds available for the 2022/23 financial year can be found below.

Aboriginal Business Round

The objective of the Aboriginal Business Round is to provide state-wide Western Australian Aboriginal businesses with funding support to enhance their capacity, capability and competitiveness as suppliers of products, services and works to Western Australian or Local Government agencies; the Australian Government and the private sector.

The level of funding support under the Aboriginal Business Round is 75% of eligible costs (excluding GST) up to a maximum funding level of $50,000 per successful applicant.

The round closes on 21 September 2022.

Supplying Key Major Projects Round

The objective of the Supplying Key Major Projects Round is to assist Western Australian SMEs to improve their capability and capacity to supply to major State Government civil construction and infrastructure projects as found in the Pipeline of Work or other key public and private sector projects. The Pipeline of Work initiative is a continually updated 4-year listing of WA Government infrastructure projects throughout the state. This information will help industry engage with the WA Government on key issues such as local capacity, training and skills requirements, and scheduling of projects.

The level of funding support under the Supplying Key Major Projects Round is 75% of eligible costs (excluding GST) up to a maximum funding level of $50,000 per successful applicant.

The round closes on 21 September 2022.

National and International Standards Compliance Round

The objective of the National and International Standards Compliance Round is to assist Western Australian SMEs with the costs of engaging external expertise to carry out the implementation and third party certification of national and international standards.

The level of funding support under the National and International Standards Compliance Round of the LCF is 75% of eligible costs (excluding GST) up to a maximum of $20,000 per successful applicant.

Applications will be considered whilst funds are available. In the event that funding is exhausted, the rounds will be closed to new applications.
