Buy Local Policy

In July 2020, the Premier launched the revised Buy Local Policy, known as the Western Australian Buy Local Policy 2020. The Buy Local Policy 2002 is being phased out as part of a planned transition across to the WA Buy Local Policy 2020.

The policy contains a range of initiatives and price preferences that provide local businesses with an enhanced opportunity when bidding to supply to the Western Australian Government.

The department is currently working with the major procuring agencies to move across to the new policy.

Please click here to view the state government agencies that are operating under the WA Buy Local Policy 2020.

Until agreement is formalised between an agency and the department, agencies will continue to operate under the Buy Local Policy 2002. If you are from an agency or are a prospective supplier and require further clarification, contact the Industry Link Advisory Service by phoning +61 8 6277 2999 or email industrylink@jtsi.wa.gov.au.

The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation is now the lead agency for the administration of the Buy Local Policy.
