AOG Energy 2021 was a huge success showcasing local companies and suppliers to almost 6000 industry professionals who registered for the two-day conference.
The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (the department) is a major sponsor of AOG Energy and its exhibit, in partnership with AMC Management WA, was also a big hit with local industry.
The department played a key role at the event with Acting Director General Richard Sellers opening the conference which ran from 10-11 March at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Deputy Director General (DDG) Linda Dawson was a keynote speaker for the WA Capability – Unlocking Opportunity session and DDG Chris Clark chaired the Hydrogen session. Executive Director, Industry Development, John O’Hare was the Chair of the official opening session.
The success of the event solidifies AOG Energy’s reputation as a destination for networking and collaboration between local companies, operators and national and international exhibitors.
To reflect the innovative and changing environment of the oil and gas industry, the event has now evolved to have a greater emphasis on the capacity of Western Australian-based industry to support the transition to cleaner energy sources. While still focusing on natural gas, the conference took significant steps to highlight renewable energy sources such as hydrogen, wind and solar.
The event marked the 40th year of the conference, demonstrating the state's significance and prominence in supporting the energy sector and creating jobs for Western Australians.
