Railcar manufacturer Alstom, who will deliver the State Government’s METRONET Railcar Procurement program, has published their procurement schedule for suppliers interested in working on the project.
Alstom signed a 10-year contract with the State Government to build 246 new rail cars to service METRONET at a new state-of-the-art facility in Bellevue, where railcar maintenance for the ‘C series’ will also be undertaken for the next 30 years.
Under the Government’s 2017 Election commitment, 50 per cent of the railcars must be made in WA, which is expected to support hundreds of local jobs.
The procurement schedule has been released by Alstom on the ICN Gateway project page. The schedule provides estimated dates for tender release to help guide suppliers.
Those suppliers who can only provide components of the scopes, are encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest on the ICN Gateway project page.
