In July 2020, the Premier launched the revised Buy Local Policy, known as the Western Australian Buy Local Policy 2020. The Buy Local Policy 2002 will be phased out during a planned 6 month transition to the WA Buy Local Policy 2020.
The policy contains a range of initiatives and price preferences that provide local businesses with an enhanced opportunity when bidding to supply to the Western Australian Government.
JTSI will be working with agencies between July – December 2020 to move agencies across to the new policy.
Until agreement is formalised between an agency and JTSI, agencies will continue to operate under the Buy Local Policy 2002. The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation is now the lead agency for the administration of the Buy Local Policy.
